What’s Next?
If individuals receive care from a Radiology Alliance provider at one of these facilities through March 31, BlueCross BlueShield will pay for their care at in-network rates, and they’ll get in-network benefits. However, on and after April 1:
- In an emergency, they should go to the closest emergency room.
- If they get non-emergency care from a Radiology Alliance provider at one of these facilities, they’ll have to pay more out of pocket. Depending on the services provided, this difference could be large. This is the case even if they or their doctor got prior authorization for their care.
- Before scheduling services that require a radiologist, members should ask their doctor or hospital to confirm who will provide these services and make sure they’re in-network.
How Can Members Find a New Provider?
If a member’s provider is listed here and BCBST and Radiology Alliance do not reach an agreement by the established time, the member will need to find a new radiology provider. Members can visit BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’s website, login with their member credentials, and search for radiologists in their network and area.
If members have questions or need more information about this specific network change, you can contact your BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Sales or Account Executive. You can also find more information on this changing situation at bcbstfacts.com.
